Hobbies & Interests

In my time away from work and school, I enjoy a wide range of activities. Whether it's music, sports, or anything outdoors, I really enjoy challenging myself with my hobbies.

Over the last year or so, I have discovered a love for music, specifically guitar. I took piano lessons for 8 years as a kid, but never really found a true passion for it. Around a year ago, I "borrowed" my dad's acoustic guitar when I moved to Lethbridge for school, and I started playing it every day. Initially, I found the guitar very difficult; it was very uncomfortable to get my hands and fingers on the chords, and my fingertips blistered from playing. I stayed persistent with my practice, and my prior experience with piano helped me pick up guitar quickly. Now my fingertips are all callused, and I can play both acoustic and electric guitar confidently.

I also enjoy activities that get me outside with friends and family. Going hiking, skiing, or getting out on the lake are all ways I enjoy some free time. I also played a few sports growing up, my favorite being hockey and golf. My time playing hockey showed me the importance of teamwork and leadership, where I was an alternate captain for my Division 1 U18 year. Despite how frustrating golf can get, it has definitely taught me to be humble and just enjoy getting outside with friends and family.
